Nah, I think he got the point dead on.

No, there are not now and never have been any gods. So we ARE living in a world where the god doesn’t exist. Hence, this is what the world looks like without the god and the point was clearly missed.

  8. Snietzsche

We have lived in a world in which the concept of god has been around for thousands of years. I wonder where mankind would be if the concept of god never existed?

Or, answer this: why did things turn out the way they did in a world where god has been assumed to exist?

  9. Slrman

Most of the world’s problems are, and always have been, caused by religion. Mankind will never truly be free until the dark yoke of religion is lifted by the right light of reason and facts.

Lenin, Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot.
“The greatest crimes in the history of mankind came not from those in thrall to…Judaism and Christianity, but from those who claimed to be atheistic, scientific socialists.” Benjamin Wiker-10 Books that Screwed up the World

    deep6johan,

I’ll give you all of them other than Hitler, who publiclly professed his Catholicism, even going so far as to liken himself to Jesus when he threw the Jewish moneychangers out of the temple.

It’s important to recognize something specific here: evil dictators are evil dictators. Whether they subscribe to this or that religious system, or none, is irrelevent. What Hitler did though was mobilize an entire nation of otherwise peaceful Christians, who were suffering no obvious economic hardship, in the name of his cause, which was specifically linked to the Bible.

A individual is just an individual until he can insight a mob or a nation to his cause. Religion, and nationalism, and racism, are all good ways to do this. And they ALL suck.

Religion and God are 2 VASTLY different things.. too bad peoples ignorance and lack of strength to see the truth, cause if they had to see the truth, they’d realize how lost they are, and how much inwardly everyone wants to be closer to their creator.. and besides..
religion is MANS way of getting to God..while Jesus Christ IS God’s way of getting to MAN.
If you cant GRASP this simple statement above, perhaps you should at least READ the bible before casting doubts..

    screw religion screw the bible…
i dont need to waste my time reading that, i have allready been forced to learn about christianity in school, wich waas more than enough.

now go outside and look up.. yes its the sky with tonz of other planets.. earth isnt the only one.
    who made the other ones?

look, you can’t prove there is or isn’t a god, Period! And to be honest, believe in a creator is A LEAP OF FAITH! on the same hand, believing that in the beginning there was nothing, then it exploded and hydrogen turned into people is A LEAP OF FAITH! now let us apply Occam’s razor( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Occam%27s_razor ) to this. I think it is more believable that something existing in the fifth dimension ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjsgoXvnStY ), in which may i mention contains ALL POSSIBLE UNIVERSE CREATION SITUATIONS, simply caused the events which led to the universes creation. Which makes more sense then a bunch of energy came from nowhere and exploded a bunch of nothing, and then all this nothing turned into people. And yes i understand that it is claimed that all matter in the universe was contained in one point and exploded, but uh, where did it come from?
Another strong point, is the redshift problem, redshift has to with light wavelengths equaling distance. But it was discovered that this isn’t the case, as a quasar was positioned in front of the center of an opaque galaxy it was determined from redshift to be several light years behind where is actually was. The idea the redshift = distance is important because they use this to determine if the universe is expanding, leading to the conclusion that this expansion had an origin, I.E. the big bang. ( http://www.angelfire.com/az/BIGBANGisWRONG/ )

also i’d like someone to explain to me how people have near death experiences, while registering zero brain activity on an eeg?

The world would be the same. Religion is not the problem. The problem is people. If there was no religion we would find something else that allows us to disagree and kill each other because of it. That is what he is saying.

  16. Ringo

hey is that the twin towers i see, oh no wait, i was just imagining a world without religion, nvm.
